The rise of Zelegith
Getting it’s name from the fact that it is indeed never dark in the city, Neverdusk quickly became a center for all the worlds commerce and trade. It grew from a tiny village to a bustling metropolis filled with goods of all kinds, and a very diverse population from all the traders and merchants that pass through. It is also home to several very prominent guilds, The Adventurers Guild, The Land and Sea traders guild, and The Guild of Arcane and Divine magic. The island of the eastern coast of the city, is ever glowing providing the cities residents with enough light that even during night hours it stays bright in the city. It is rumored that this island is the home of The Creator him self on the mortal plane. although it has never been confirmed, all expeditions to the island to try and probe it for answers has been prohibited by law after a petition was brought up to the mayor by the Guild of Arcane and Divine magic. Since the conquest of Zelegith this city has remained pretty much the same, because Zelegith realized the importance of such a bustling trade city. Although during his initial campaign of conquest, and his first assault on Neverdusk with his army of evil men, orcs and black dragons, he was thrown back by a combination of the efforts of the Adventuring party that was working to thwart him, and the wizards from the arcane guild.
In an effort to destroy them, Zelegith attempted to destroy with entire city with one great spell, until an aspect of Bahamut was summoned in the temple in Neverdusk by his greatest Clerics and Paladins. It appeared and interrupted Zelegith’s spell. He still managed to destroy about half of the city, and it tore a hole in the world that reaches down almost to the core of the planet. The attack was thrown back and Zelegith escaped, the aspect of bahamut assisted the mages in creating a barrier around the hole that simulated real ground, except it was see through so the chasm can still be seen by the residents of that area. It is now known as The Sundering of Neverdusk and that area is repopulated. After advisement from his closest generals Zelegith decided not to destroy the entire city in his second assault due to the great value it could provide to his empire.
